A Utah bride and her dad stunned the 400 visitors at her wedding reception with an epic, choreographed dance mashup in location of the classic father-daughter dance.
Mikayla Ellison Phillips, 25, and her dad, Nathan Ellison, brought the home down at her Oct. 8 wedding close to Provo, Utah. The pair carried out a practically four-minute dance mashup that began with a slow dance to "Butterfly Kisses" and quickly morphed into a rapidly-paced medley featuring songs like M.C. Hammer's "U Can not Touch This" and NSYNC's "Bye Bye Bye." ![]() "I'm the oldest and the only woman so that was my dad's only chance to do something like this," Phillips advised ABC æµ·å¤å©ç¦® News. "He for years has talked about undertaking that and he ultimately convinced me." Phillips is a qualified dancer who met her husband as dance partners on the International Folk Dance Ensemble at Brigham Young University. "I've danced my entire lifestyle but my dad hasn't," Phillips stated of Ellison, who performs in product sales and personal computer engineering. Nonetheless, Phillips and Ellison spent only the week prior to the wedding ceremony choreographing the dance and rehearsing for their huge second. They chose songs that had been meaningful to them each and then relied on Phillips' now-husband Cody to remix the music. "Each and every night [in the week] prior to the wedding ceremony we would run through it a few instances," Phillips said. "I feel considering that we'd talked about it for many years that it was fairly straightforward for it to come together." Phillips stated it "appeared demanding" at the time to be rehearsing a dance even though preparing for the greatest day of her lifestyle, but in retrospect, she is so glad she manufactured her dad's dream come real. "The most entertaining factor was seeing my dad and how happy he was," Phillips mentioned. "That was a dream fulfilled." The dance, which was captured on camera by wedding ceremony videographer Bethany Petersen, has nearly 200,000 views on YouTube given that being posted last week. Phillips explained the father-daughter dance was the highlight of the reception -- guests, she mentioned, "freaked out" -- but it did not overshadow her wedding to Cody. "The actual best component of that day was marrying my greatest good friend," she mentioned.
